Gears of war game review

History of Epic games

Gear of war was created by an organisation called epic games. The game came out on the 9th November 2006 and was created by Cliff Bleszinski. The company that also made Gears of war created the Unreal series, ZZT, Zill of the jungle, Epic pinball, one must fall 2097 and Shadow complex.
Epic games was founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney in Rockville Maryland but back then Epic games were called Epic Mega Games
In 1998 Epic Mega Games released Unreal a 3D third person shooter which expanded in to the Unreal series and this would change the face of 3D third person shooters.
Awards
Due to the success of Gears of War, the studio was awarded IGN's "Best Developer for Xbox 360"Offical XBOX Magazines” Best Developer of the Year" and "Best Studio of the Year and Spike TV's "Best Studio

The game

Blending the best of tactical action games with the best of survival horror titles, "Gears of War" is the first game developed by Epic Games exclusively for Microsoft Game Studios and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system. "Gears of War" thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind's epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.
In this third-person tactical shooter, gamers live and breathe the role of Marcus Fenix. A disgraced former war hero, Marcus seeks personal redemption as he leads his fire team against an onslaught of merciless warrior fiends. You have to play very smart and tactical on Gears of war because there can be an enemy round any corner.

Similarities

Gears of war is very similar to the game Unreal tournament, Mass effect two. The reason it is so similar to these games is because they, are all made on the same Unreal engine and epic is mostly known for making games on unreal. Also the game play on these three games are pretty much the same kind of thing as well e.g. The cover systems on the game are the same, the guns, the storyline.

What I like about the game

I like Gears of War because of the amazing campaign storyline and the characters that they used. Also the graphics are amazing. But the best part of the whole game in the multiplayer even thought epic put the multiplayer at the last second the game still got multiplayer game of the year. But with put the multiplayer being put in at the last second there were a lot of problems and things needing to be updated.

What I don’t like about the game

Really I can not think of anything I don’t like about Gears of War. But if there was something I could say I didn’t like it would be. The lag on the game lag is where you respond slower than someone else.

My overall opinion

I think Gears of war is the best multiplayer game on the xbox360 because you have to be smart to be good at Gears of war and because of the graphics.

Rating out of ten

I will give Gears of war 9 out of ten just because of the multiplayer.

overview of the audio unit.

For me this has been the best unit so far because it is something I want to when I leave college.

For me the worst bit of this unit and every unit is the research. I find this boring and I prefer to do the practical part of the unit better.

I found my finished piece of work was very good because I did every thing you needed to and more, so I am hoping I get a better grade than a pass. The track I created was very good it sounded all in sync with the recorded clips that I recored.

The only thing I could of changed in my work was to have a bit more description of the work in my research.

Key skills

We started to day with key skills we looked at how to and where to use commas. As I feel I am not very good at this it was goood to have some practise.

After key skills we went up to the 7th floor of pelham and did a English key skills exam. The beginning of the exam was easy but when I got into the test it got a lot harder. I think I have done pretty good on this test and just wating for the results.

OMG post

We started today with key skills. We did some work about apostrophes and a quiz to help us with them.

Then we had break and when we came back, Adrian was telling us how to set up mics to a mixing desk. He showed us how to do this because we have a test to see if we can set up a mic to a mixing desk without making a mistake. The mics we had to set up were called condenser and dynamic mics. Then after lunch I didn't have much else to do because I have finished all my work.

Finished unit

Today I finshed doing my song ( Was very hard). But I am very happy with the out come of it.
Also, I done my screen shots off the tools and the way it was made.

After finishing the unit I have found out that I like Cubase more than Soundbooth. Because I think you get more freedom to do anything you like With the loops or clip than Soundbooth. But with Soundbooth you get a much bigger range of affects. You can also create your own loops in Soundbooth.

New unit

Today I have been making a song from some recoreded clips thae Matt and Connor recored while in college and also I used a song from YouTube for the background music. With all these things we recored we had to make a mix.

It was very enjoyable getting all the clips together and using them to mix with backgorund song that I used.

I found making the mix easy to make because we already used Cubase to make our normal song in the last unit.
